The Sleepy Hole Club has made our Veterans Memorial Open tournament an annual event, with all proceeds being
donated to the Albert G Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, in Suffolk. This year, weather was perfect for pitching shoes, and we had 9 players show up. They were divided into 3 classes and played twice through each class. Although this might sound like few participants, it netted a $180 donation to the Veterans Cemetery. In previous years, we used our donations to purchase visitor benches and viewing seats. This year we designated our donation to the “plants and beautification” program. The Cemetery has been exceedingly grateful for our participation and donations, and looks forward to seeing us each year. We are thankful that we can do our little part to support this memorial to our Veterans. See you next year! Scott
