Old Dominion Summer Classic
May 23, 2015
It was
threatening to rain again, but we were glad to see 25 pitchers
sign up. We ran with mostly 4 man classes (pitch twice through)
– one class had 5 people.
As a repeat of 2014, A Class
was taken by Glenn Barlow with 6-0, pitching 62.29% overall .
George Maitland, his constant competitor finished the day with
60.62%, but 4 wins/2loss.
Richard Brown was surprised
signing up, when he was slated for B CLASS instead of A... he
entered with 46.7, but not good enough to get into the top
class. He DID finish the day in 1st place – but not all
wins. He scored a loss against James Porter during the rounds.
Ron Altizer took C class with all wins, no losses. His
ending % for the day was 45.8... What do you think?? He’s moving
up to the next class next tournament?
I won (Pat
Snelgrove) 1st place in D class, but it was a hard-earned
winning. My competition beat me up but I held on till the end
Joseph Rogers won 1st place in E class, finishing with
34.91% - a full 7% over his entering stat. Great job!!
In the F Class, Bryan Spivey came on strong, winning out over
1st seed Mickey Gillespie. Ending the day 22% vs. Mickey’s 20%
