From CARL OTTO: RICHMOND OPEN April 18, 2015 Weather was great, we were ready. Food galore ready for pitchers!! We had 5 people buy/renew their memberships to pitch the tournament, but we only had 21 players. Very disappointing turnout for such a great day. We played 4 classes: A and B – unlimited shoes C and D - 40 points or 40 shoes, whichever came first Classes A,B,C were won with all wins, no losses in those classes. A Class winner – Glenn Barlow B Class winner – Richard Owens C Class winner – Johnnie Hayes In A Class, in his final game, up-to-now “undefeated” Glen Barlow vied off with up-to-now also “undefeated” George Maitland. Glen slammed George hard ending with 11 straight doubles to take 1st place in the class and become tournament champion. George ended the day with an admirable 60.19, but Glenn showed his stuff, finishing with a 70.92 ! We had one 1st place tie, decided by playoff game in D Class. Mickey Gillespie vs. Bobby Spencer. Mickey took the playoff game 23-17 (40 shoe game), earning 1st place in the class. Where are all the horseshoe pitchers? Carl
